Bangkok - Khao San Road

We're back in Bangkok for the night. Our flight to Kuala Lumpur leaves early tomorrow morning (9:00, but we'll have to head out at about 6:30 or so to make it to the airport in time), but we got a hotel just off Khao San Road--Betty had visited it with her previous tour, and thought it was a must-see. Basically it's a road in Bangkok packed with street vendors, merchants, shops, restaurants, bars, and PEOPLE. That doesn't really do it justice, though. There was even an elephant. Of course, the surrounding streets are pretty much the same thing, so it's one lively atmosphere.

It was sad to leave Samui, but the flight here was smooth, and I'm looking forward to Malaysia!

  1. I'm thinking that a ride on an elephant is pretty much a must. I mean, if they are walking down the street, you gotta be able to catch a ride somewhere sometime.
The picture you paint sounds like a scene out of an early star wars movie.
Fascinating! You're starting to make me think it's not a bad place to visit.
